KSO

Among switchgear cabinets, KSO chambers stand out separately. Single-side service assembly chambers, or simply KSO, are used today in distribution installations of any complexity. The main difference between KSO chambers and switchgear is their open design: the assembly buses are laid openly on top of the chamber.

In typical KSO chambers, equipment is installed only permanently. As a rule, KSO cabinets have a simpler configuration, and a typical set of cabinets contains a significant number of modules with load switches and fuses.

KSO chambers are used in urban power supply systems, in rural distribution networks, for temporary power supply of construction sites, and also for installation at substations with simple main connection diagrams and low short-circuit currents (up to 20 kA).

One-sided service allows you to place the KSO directly against the wall or with the back walls facing each other, which saves space (important in high-density urban areas)

Application

The industries where these one-way switchgears are used are as follows:

• oil industry (oil and gas processing stations, drilling rigs, oil pipelines);
• electrical transformer substations, city networks (various electrical installations) – in large cities, for example, KSO is used for lighting subways;
• agriculture;
• rail and water transport.

Equipment

Low-voltage KSO have gray panels, marked ЩО-70-1, ЩО-70-2, ЩО-70-3. The boards are designed to protect power lines from overloads. Chambers equipped with such devices are thus protected from short circuits. Gray panels have such properties due to their metal structure, which has buses along the edges with electrodynamic resistance to various types of overloads that occur in the network.

The standard configuration of single-side service chambers is as follows: oil and vacuum switches, disconnectors, manual load switches, grounding devices, fuses, voltage limiters and other various electrical equipment. At the customer's request, the factory configuration of the chambers can be supplemented. However, everything will depend on the auxiliary circuits and connections.
